Description
HI
they never knew what was quite going on but the talk of the town stayed the same/ “he’s never home and he’s always alone/ he must be living the wrong way/ he’s not polite and he doesn’t dress right and he never has much to say”/ but later they found what the truth was about and no one knew quite what to say
he was being abused/ he was brutally used/ by his own flesh and blood he was beaten and bruised/ i saw him at church, no doubt looking for worth/ and all i could think to say was “hi”
days turned to weeks and the weeks turned its back on the dreams of an innocent child/ we all thought he was well/ surely someone had helped/ after all it had been quite a while/ may turned to june/ it was no longer news by the time i saw him last night/ but now it’s no mystery, this tragedy/ could i have known he would take his own life? he was standing alone at the edge of that road/ i saw he was crying/ i wish i had known/ he looked in my eyes as i slowly passed by/ all i could think to say was “hi” and i won’t take the blame/ but i will feel this pain/ God why do i live life this way/ with the power of your words that could somehow save a life/ God don’t let me just say “hi”
